BlackApature
A private home security camera system.
BlackApature runs on one computer inside a home and watches that home's own cameras. It is built for and used by a single household; it is not a public service and there is nothing to sign up for.
What it does
- Records the home's cameras around the clock, at full quality, on the home's own computer.
- Recognises people, vehicles and animals with AI that runs on that computer, and ignores passing traffic and moving shadows.
- Sends the household a phone alert with a picture and a one-line description of what happened.
- Keeps an off-site copy of each event's picture and video clip in the owner's own Google Drive, so the evidence survives if the computer is stolen or damaged.
Google Drive
BlackApature asks only for permission to work with the files it creates in the owner's Google Drive. It cannot see anything else there, shares nothing with anyone, and removes its own copies after 30 days. Details are in the privacy policy.
